What God Resembles

Found, Kiln-Cast, & Cold-Worked Glass, Light Box

Fall 2013

In Islamic architecture and ornamentation, book-matched (mirrored vein patterning) marble panels were believed to reveal the face of God.  For this piece, I collected work made by other glass artists.  After a process of fusing and kiln-casting these pieces into a large block, I coldworked and book-matched the panels as if they were marble. The work of other artists come together to create these forms, which serve as my tribute to the glass community.
