Victory Spectrum uses the artist’s deceased grandmother’s award ribbons that her pure breed show dogs won in order to examine the formal qualities of victory, achievement, and glory. Gold, reflection, and radiant colors denote a winning popularity and connotes greatness. However, when all of these colors are joined within that artwork, the colors appear childlike, gaudy, and trivial.
